If you visit Yogyakarta, it is not complete if you have not tried this Soto yet. The name is SOTO KADIPIRO. The founder of Soto Kadipiro is Mr. Widadi Tahir Katowidjoyo. It was built since the colonial domination of Dutch, and now four children of Mr. Widadi Tahir Kartowidjoyo have opened a branch of Soto Kadipiro which is located across SOTO KADIPIRO Street. Great Indonesia.com had an opportunity to come by to SOTO KADIPIRO II. SOTO KADIPIRO II was built in 1973 and is handled by Mr, Giyono, however when Great Indonesia.com visited SOTO KADIPIRO II, we met his wife, Mrs. Suharti Giyono only.
Mrs. Suharti Giyono told us that there are always many customers come from big cities in Indonesia, which are Surabaya, Semarang, Jakarta, Solo. When we visited SOTO KADIPIRO II we even saw the pictures of famous people and Indonesian artists that ever come to taste this Yogyakarta special soto, they are Mr. Swidikatmono, Helmi Yahya, Hari Panca and many more.
The ingredients that are used by this Soto are very simple, they are : cabbage, chicken, bean sprouts, perkedel (croquette of spicy ground meat and boiled potatoes), fried onion, celery, and sauce. In one day, they can sell 200 - 300 portions. They start open at 7.30 in the morning until 3 o'clock in the evening and open again at 7 o'clock in the evening until 9 o'clock in the evening.
