YOGYAKARTA

Solo Town lying on 110 45' 15"- 110 45'35" East Longitude, 70 36 - 70 56' South Paralel, and the height is 29 m above sea level. Solo Town have hot climate, with the maximum temperature 32,4 C and minimum temperature 21,6 C. Solo Town passed by very famous river " Bengawan Solo". Solo Town ringed by Merapi, Merbabu, and Lawu Mount. And also ringed by Sukoharjo, Karanganyar, and Boyolali regency.

History of Solo Town started at King Paku Buwono II governance in Kartosuro Palace. During the period, rebellion happened, lead by Sunan Kuning assisted by kraton family which disagree Paku Buwono II work along with the Dutch. Because the rebellion, PB II evacuate to Pacitan and Ponorogo. Assisted by Kompeni and adipati Ponorogo, the rebellion put down by Paku Buwono II. Because Kartosuro Palace have dissolved, Paku Buwono II command Prince Wijil who assisted Tumenggung Tirtowiguno and Honggowongso, searching location to be new capital .Finally, by various consideration, Paku Buwono II chosen the sala village which is located in riverbank of Bengawan Solo to become the new capital. Since then Sala become the Surakarta Hadiningrat.

Two century later, exactly in 1964, Surakarta reliqushed its status as a kingdom to become a Municipality, what finally more famous with the municipality Surakarta.
